Asmaa James: from Black Tuesday to Rise Radio
Three projects over six years: her personal brand and Black Tuesday campaign, the launch of Girls Plus SL, and the branding and positioning of Rise Radio.
The challenge
Turn a respected broadcaster’s activism into a visible personal brand, then give each new venture an identity and a story people could follow and support.
What we did
- Asmaa James Foundation (2018): her first website, copy and blog, plus documentation and amplification of the Black Tuesday initiative
- Girls Plus SL (2022): foundational branding and logo, website build, and media coverage and articles on SwitSalone documenting the work
- Rise Radio (2022 – 2024): logo, the tagline We Keep It Light, brand identity and social templates for a new youth-first station in 2022. After the station went on air, she came back in 2024 for a marketing and promotional strategy and action plan to win advertisers and listeners among 18–30-year-olds
